What is the name of your state? Minnesota

My children have been given SSDI auxiliary benefits. The letter states that April 1, 2019 is the filing date. Does the retro pay start in April or is it subject to the 5 month hold and begin September?

The five months only applies to the time between when you ceased SGA and benefits starting. If you stopped being able to work before January, then their benefits will indeed start on April 1.

What is the date of onset of the worker who qualified for SSDI? The 5 month waiting period begins with the month after onset. Retroactivity of payment can go back 12 months before application, depending on onset date. So it could be as early as 4/18 or as late as October 2019

Their award letter will explain it.
