This is a letter that I have sent via Email, to OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE, in their comments section of their webpage: My question is - I would like to find an attorney that would be willing to represent me in this case. Since this seems to me, that it is an open and shut case, would the attorney be willing to settle for damages money, instead of a retainer fee?
This occured on Friday, March 14, 2008.

Dear Outback Steakhouse,
And I mean, get this email to your CEO.
I have never been insulted more in my life.
Today, Friday, I worked really hard in my OWN technical support company, where I go out and work on customers computers. Well, today, I accomplished much, so I was in a real celebration mood, and I decided to go to the Mesquite Outback Steakhouse, because as many times as I have gone to Outback, I have always had your Prime Rib and then requested to have this steak made to 20oz, at $1.00 per oz. Tonight, Friday, March 15, 2008, around 7:00pm, my friend and I (we have worked together in the computer industry for over 20 years), decided to celebrate todays accomplishments by having a great steak at Outback Steak House. I had to talk my friend into going, because he doesn't really care to spend $30.00 on a steak meal. I said, I want to have a really great steak. So we came to your establishment. I ordered a 20oz steak, with salad, and two sides (baked potato, and a vegetable). I ordered my steak medium. The waitress suggested that I try the Outback seasoning on the steak. She said that I could get another steak if I didn't like it. WELL, let me tell you what happened. My friend ordered medium well. When he got his steak, it was medium rare, and we talked to the waitress. I also told her that there was roughly 6 oz of FAT in my steak. My friend told the waitress, that his steak was medium rare, (which it was, pink on the inside) and seasoned with whatever the seasoning is that makes the steak salty. Suddenly, the floor manager came over, and my friend told her that the steak was medium rare, and she contradicted him, telling him that it was medium well. A polite argument was taking place right before my very eyes. I politely told my friend, "it's ok, no problem. Everything will be ok". My steak had a big chunk of FAT on the end of it. I told a waiter that there was too much fat, and asked him if he could get them to do something about it. He told me he would take care of it. About 3 minutes later, he brought me out another plate of a steak that was awesome, the size of the amount of fat that I showed him. I was content. The waitress kept coming by, asking if everything was ok, and, my friend and I both told her that everything was great. I started having a conversation with her, that she like rock-and-roll, and asked her some rock stars names, and she stated, Mic Jagger, just to mention one. All was great, and then the issue came up that the asst manager was going to treat us with a $25.00 coupon, and she put 1 $25.00 coupon on the table, because we received steaks that weren't what we thought. All was fine, and then my friend said that we have separate tickets. We both said something, because as my friend and I visit different restaurants (we do this because we have decided to come out the computer world, and see life), we have experienced several times, the waitress give us only 1 ticket, so we always insist on 2 tickets at the end of the meal. This time, as we told your assistant manager this, she explained that she would see about us each of us, getting a $20.00 gift certificate, and we said that we are not a couple, and that several restaurants have done this to us. All of a sudden, your assistant manager said, "she was sorry that we were not a couple, and that we would make a cute couple, if we were a couple.". I heard this come from her, but it took about 20 seconds for this to sink in, what she had said. I have no desire to destroy this asst manager's career, but after the 20 seconds had past, it dawned on me, what she had said. Did I hear that she thought that we were GAY? I asked my friend, did you hear what she said. I told him, and we talked about it for 30 seconds. And the more I thought about it, the more intense I got, that she was saying that my friend and I would make a cute couple. HOW THE HELL ELSE AM I SUPPOSE TO TAKE THIS!. I proceeded, in anger, to tell her that I did three years in the Marine Corps, and I am a true American, and that I am TOTAL macho, and, in no way am I *****! The more I thought about it, the more PISSED I because, so mucn to the point that I told the waitress that I wanted to talk to the General Manager. When she came over, I explained exactly, in anger, what just took place, and somehow the conversation got around to the Generals Manager's brother is gay, and she's was ok with that.

Let me come to the point. I AM EXTREMELY PISSED OFF about this incident tonight. I have never been more insulted in my entire life.

I am a professional in the computer industry, and have been involved in the computer industry since 1981. I am 51 years old, a previous BoyScout (Order of the Arrow, and 1st Class), a Marine !975 to 1978, a Demolay ( teenage Masonic Lodge person) and I have worked very hard to maintain a mature, professional career. I worked at Mountain View College, (part of the Dallas Count Community College District - DCCCD), But when someone, more or less says that my friend and I would make a cute couple, I take EXTREME OFFENSE to it, so much to the point that the Marine in my almost took over, and I had to stop myself from taking her HEAD OFF. A marine it taught that when a BULL is chasing you, why be afraid of it. Turn around and scare the bull. This was fine in the Marine Corps, but it does not work well in society.

Now I am not going to use profane language in expressing how upset I am about what happened.

Your manager did give us the coupons (each of us), but I don't think that I am going to be able to get beyond what your manager said to me! I currently am taking care of my father, who, by the way, is a very well respected, retired Department of Public Safety Leutenant, but is now in a wheelchair because of 3 strokes he has had, and how difficult it is because he has turned into an alcholic, my mother has seperated from him, but my dad raised my sister and I in a "Leave it to Beaver" atmosphere, but life has gone crooked. I also am seperated from my wife, married in 1981, and we HAVE a daughter, 26, who is BIPOLAR, and every Saturday, I attend a group called NAMI (http://www.nami.org/). It is not like I don't have enough trauma in my life, and then, go to into, what I thought was a well respected restaurant, expecting to have a professional atmosphere and steak, just to hear from a manager in a store, that I am GAY. I hate GAY people. I am NO WAY. GAY. THAT IS TO SAY, THAT I AM NOT A FAG, *****, GAY, OR ANYTHING NEAR THAT. I told your assistant manager that "IT IS AGAINST THE BIBLE TO BE GAY. A PERSON GOES TO HELL FOR THAT!!!!!".
Do you get my point.

There was nothing that was lead your manager to think that I was GAY!!! or even a CUTE COUPLE, I AM SO F_______ PISSED, Your people and I need to talk. I, or my friend, no way caused this insult, but to have my friend and I insulted like this, and told that we would make a cute couple, has completely crossed the line, in my book. Your ENTIRE company OWES ME A "BIG" APOLOGY! I was sold, especially on the steak, the atmosphere, I enjoyed your commercials, and someday wanted to go to Austrialia, but after this incident tonight, you people have pissed me off so much, that I almost had to order a drink. I was so pissed, that I told my friend that I was going to stop going places with him. (He has long hair).

Let me give you an idea, and to where I am coming from:
Am I to think, that Outback Steakhouse thinks, that when two guys come into a restaurant, that they are GAY? This restaurant is not in Oak Lawn. And I do not go into that neighborhood. I even refuse to work on computers, because of aids, and how disgusting being gay is. I do have one gay customer, where I go work on his computer, and he has confided in me about how his family hates that he has "AIDS". I am sorry that he has AIDES, but I AM NOT GAY.

I am very interested to hear from your people, in regards to this matter, just so that I can hear what you have to say on this.

I am considering talking to my attorney, and explaining to him how both your assistant manager, who thinks that my friend and I are GAY (we were in a booth, but he sat on one side, and I sat on the other), and your General Manager has a problem with my opinion about GAY people.

Considering how you respond to me, will determine how I persue this matter.

It would only be slander if she said you were gay and the community in which you were in took that as reputationally damaging. Saying you would make a nice couple is opinion. Opinion is free speech - something Marines all over our country fight everyday to preserve and to protect.

God bless those Marines!

Seconded!

May I third it already? Or do I have to wait and then fourth it? :)

Yup, we need them all back home. They could, perhaps, patrol the Outback Steakhouses, to protect our freedoms there. ;)

Yup, we need them all back home.
Having sent my boy to Iraq, and thank God he came back, I can only say that they are magnificent and deserve all possible respect.
I would also kill anyone who tried to send him back. And I wouldn't blink or hesitate.

AFTER they eat big, good steak dinners! :)

I don't eat at the Outback much (I prefer the original Outback Steakhouse and Oyster bar in Branson), but on the occasions I have eaten there, I have been impressed by their high degree of professionalism and customer service orientation.

Your post reveals my observations to be correct.

Medium rare would be Red centered.

and I have a problem with your opinion of gay people too. Mr Hot head poster. and I am not gay and I don't really like meat either.
