CC - California ladies must be dreamers .....
Yeah, well... one could only hope.

Some little girl asked my son one day as we were walking to the car "CC, jr. do you have a girlfriend???"

I gave her the death stare and said "I'm his girlfriend" and kept walking...

I told my son I believe in arranged marriages.

THAT is just TOO funny!!!! Oh my STARS!!

but whats wrong with a Southern accent? I doubt I could lose mine if I tried. Even my straightlaced Naval Officer sister can't totally get rid of hers.LOL
Nothing's wrong with one... except I got REALLY tired of my former in-laws pointing out how 'cute' my accent was (they're from MN... wanna talk accents???) :p

Unruly though... she's had an accent since she learned to talk. It's like she was reading Gone w/the Wind in the womb and we're from Northern MO... it's not like we LIVE in the South.

Hubby just keeps reminding lil bit that nuns don't get married, so not to get too excited about anything. She is very into the show "Say yes to the dress".

All I can say is that once girls discover boys life only gets more interesting. *L*

CC, honey. They keep growing up. It never stops. I loathed every single girl that sashayed across the horizon, but never said so...just suffered in silence.

They're in their twenties, and they still date those horrid, awful, dreadful girls!

;)

Hey I know that feeling ... when hubby took me out to Cali for his 25th DCI reunion a couple of years ago I was probably asked 100 times if I am from Mayberry. It was just easier to say yes ... especially since my home town is about the same size, and as my hubby pointed out, my dad was with the Sheriff's dept. and Lil Bit was probably 5 before I could convince her that Ben Matlock was not her Papa.
Hubby is from Central Cali (truly another planet, hence he is my alien) and thinks my accent is adorable. Anytime we are traveling out to see his family, he wants me to watch "Gone with the Wind" or "Shag" or "Sweet Home Alabama" on the plane out there just to make sure my drawl is firmly in place when we arrive. I will admit that when out there I DO have an accent ... but once we are firmly on Carolina soil again, I sound normal and HE is the one with the accent :D

My sister and I have both decided that when our boys start bring home girls (they are 11 and 14 now) that we will LOVE the ones we really hate, and hate the ones we love. You know kids always sway towards what their parents hate when they want to become rebellious teenagers... so we're hoping a little reverse psychology might do the trick.

I look at my little angelic baby:D and think... he's asking to go to school dances... there will be GIRLS there.

Sorry ladies,

Because I have a son who will be entering high school in a year and a half and is absolutely gorgeous (even other people think so... :D), I refuse to have this conversation. Maybe he'll think girls have cooties for ever and only like his mommy... just like he does now.
I just have to say...My daughters half-bro(Kiddo) will be 16 this summer. He is gorgeous too and looks way older than 16...when I took Kiddo and Fancy to the Zoo we had a zoo worker mistake him for my boyfriend...:eek::cool:

I told Kiddo many years ago that if he made me a 33yo grandmother I would kill him!!! Last summer Kiddo ran up over $800 on a cell phone calling & texting sex lines (luckily his Mothr was the one who had to deal with that one)

Wake up CC, girls stop having cooties when they start having boobies;)

Watching anything like that brings out the accent. It's crazy.

Or... get a couple margaritas in me and look out! I was at a friend's house a year or so ago and was a little tipsy... and I actually said "Scoo bus" yes. I did.

You make me weep and wanna die, just when you said you'd try
Lovin', touchin', squeezin' A GIRL!!
When I'm alone, all by myself, (watching Law & Order on tv)
you're out with someone else
Lovin', touchin', squeezin' each other

You're tearing me apart, every every day
You're tearing me apart, oh what can I say
You're tearing me apart

It won't be long yet, 'til you're alone
When your SON, oh he hasn't come home
'Cos he's lovin', ooh he's touchin', he's squeezin' a GIRL!

He's tearin' you apart, oh every every day
He's tearin' you apart, oh CC what can you say
'Cos he's lovin', touchin' YET another GIRL!!
now it's your turn, CC, to cry

Na na na na na na, na na na na na, na na na na na na, na na na na na...

(with semi-sincere apologies to Journey, for changing their lyrics :p)

And oh my.... have you SEEN these girls these days??? I did NOT look like that when I was 12. There are too many hormones in the chicken these days. Something in the water... California smog... I don't know what it is.. but I didn't have what these girls had at 12. Shoot, I had to have a baby just to get some of the stuff I have now.:D

BTW... thanks Eme... you sure have a way of brightening my day. CC,jr. is home sick from school today... cuddled up in my bed, looking like the angel he is. Away from the girls!!!

That's it. I'm going to jump off the second story window. The thought of my baby with a girl just makes me.... cringe. (and I will be crying).. we will need a support group thread.
