What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? The Lone Star State (TX)

On January 16, 2008, I was involved in a accident. The other driver rear-ended me while I was sitting at a stop light. When I told her that I needed to see her insurance and a license, she drove off.

I was insured, however, I only had liability due to the fact I was laid off at the time & couldn't afford full coverage...plus my car was a 1996

I wrote her a letter demanding compensation. I included a copy of the police report that stated that it was a hit and run and she was charged with speeding as well.

She wrote me back, stating that, according to her records, the car was sold in 2007 to a guy and she gave me his phone number. It was disconnected.

I went to the DMV to get a vehicle inquiry form. It shows yet another person (another man, not the previous one) as the owner and it showed her name as the previous owner.

She still says that isn't her car...she still says it was sold in 2007 to the first guy and she is refusing to do anything about it.

I know I should sue...adn I will, but I don't know WHO to sue.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
