my question is if you gave up a
child over 21 years ago, that child
has the right to look for me as the
birth parent. what is the laws about
me looking for her. she died in 1996
but the adoptive parents didnt let me
know about it till they knew i would
be waiting for her to find me. they
will not let me know where she is
burried but they all so let me know
that she was going to find me . the
adoption file was holding letters that
i had wrote to her as she was growing
up they had said that she had always
said she was going to look for me. so
with this in mind and the tradgey of
her death they (they!!!) changed there
mind and wont let me know where she
is burried. if she had the right to
look me up why after 21 years do i
not have the same right? if i do
what is my next step? i cant aford a
lawer. macshelly

You know, this is a really good question but I'm not sure I personally know the answer. What I do know is that you gave up your right to this child 21 yrs ago, therefore the parents were not obligated to you in any way. I'm not sure if you have any rights to know where she is buried etc..I will keep checking back here in hopes that someone will know for sure because this is quite interesting.

Look at it this way.. asking to know where an adopted person is buried by the person who gave the child up for adoption is like you asking me where my grandmother is buried.
