What is the name of your state? Rhode Island.
A sliver of publicly owned property extends into and nearly bisects my property. The public entity is amenable to transferring title, but there are serious hoops to jump through by both me and the entity. I have been crossing and using the parcel for over 20 years, with no objection from former private owners of the parcel nor by the public entity, and wonder whether a simple solution might be to claim adverse possession. However I suspect that adverse possession against public property is not permitted under Rhode Island law. Any advice appreciated. What is the name of your state?
