That's because they renamed it from "Statutory Rape" to "Unlawful Sexual Intercourse" some years back. For most of us investigating these things, it ws learned as "Statutory Rape" ... and, of course, they could call it "Fun Times with Minors" and it would still mean the same thing.

And the law allows for the use of language when the intent is known. How could OP know that the term "statutory rape" is an old term replaced by a newer term, the intent is the same, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I was just using the word OP was using, so that there was consensus, nor did I address the other things a minor's parents could do if they disapproved of the relationship. Actually, it is good to see the young man's parents considering ahead of time the implications of the relationship rather than making excuses after the fact.

My boys know my feelings on the matter - and they will continue to know as they get older ... though, my middle son still thinks girls are "icky".

They will NOT get a sympathetic ear from me if they are ever anything but proper gentlemen toward a girl, and respectful and considerate of her parents' wishes.

I dread the teen years to come ... :(

Actually what you need to do is let them know what the standard daughter dating application entails so that they are prepared for the lenghty application process http://home.att.net/~scorh3/Date.html
I'm glad mine are grown and now have daughters :D
There is a lot of talk of 12' high fences topped with razor wire being installed around their yard. ;)
