Hello All,
I notified my landlord that I would be breaking my lease (had 5 months left) on December 1st, 2018. My fiance and I took it upon ourselves to post the house and show the house. We collect about 12 families application fees total for her to choose from. We paid rent throughout December and January even though we bought and moved into our new house January 1st, 2019.
The landlord had not done anything to help re-rent the entire process, mind you.
She selected a new tenant who was suppose to move in tomorrow, January 28th, 2019. She also collected their security deposit. One day before move in the tenant backs out cause the housed was not "move in ready clean" before she took possession.
My landlord informed me I will still be responsible for rent until she finds a new person. Am I still responsible?
Any and all advice is much appreciated, thank you!
