really? Mine must be special, or I am because mine does not include such verbiage.

Since you do, they can bill you for the interest and collection fees. They have a long time to do so.

and the doctor's office still does not have to provide you with a bill saying you paid the balance in full but even if they did, it wouldn't matter if you are concerned with interest and collection fees. They may not have those available at the moment. When they are calculated, they can then send you a bill. In other words, a statement with a $0 balance is not going to overrule the contract you signed.
I understand. That is correct. That is why this is not worth going to a collection attorney (which is what one poster before you suggested) because there is not going to be anything the attorney can do for my protection via law if you sign anything written agreement. All business can make any rules they want. That includes doctor's interest, collection, court fee and attorney fee and all the cost. They are not unique to one specific merchant of a field. The merchants in a field tends to make identical or similar enough rules requiring their customers to sign. If customers don't sign to their rule, they have the right to not do business with them. Yours will likely change and include such rules eventually

Anyway the answer to my question based on the posters (some of you have given legit and insightful advices, and some little short in thinking) are 1) Give it up and hope that the docs office will leave me alone and they will not f*** up my credit while holding on to all the insurance statement, dunning letter and proof of payments or 2) Go up the chain and make them empathize, and request them to issue me a letter saying that the account has been satisfied (Yes, they don't have to issue me a letter of satisfaction because there is no law for that, and I SURE WILL NOT ISSUE YOU A RECEIPT OR LETTER OF SATISFACTION IF YOU COME TO ME AFTER I REPORT YOU 2 A COLLECTION AGENCY IF YOU COME TO MY BUSINESS BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TO.)

One lesson will be in future, I'll need to keep track of insurance claim status anytime I go to any doctor or lab or whatever, and if there's any delay in them invoicing me then you'll have to call them to request the invoice or payment instruction.

If you still agree not, you dont have to make further efforts to rebut me as I am the one who will experience what will happen per someone's error at this docs office, and it won't be worth it. There's nothing more anyone can benefit from this thread. I hope what has happened to me will not happen to any of you who read this thread, or if it does then you'll be able to empathize with the OP on this thread. Have a nice Easter weekend.
