Things like this happen more often than they should

A recruiter trying to make quota, with a potential recruit who is
willing to omit a part of his medical history . . . . seven times out of
ten they are 'found out' in basic

The majority of recruiters are honest and decent soldiers, but recruiting
is a job not desired, but needed for promotion. You are expected to make
a quota per month (and per week), you work seven days a week and up
to eighteen hours a day

I did my recruiting bit in the mid 1970s and it wasn't as cutthroat as it is today
