Okay IAAL...here it goes.
I live in the state of Georgia....Cobb County if that helps. I am being sued by a neighbor for "allowing my cats to trespass onto her property." My question is: Can I use video evidence to prove that the "cats in question" are not mine? For example...video my cats and the other cats together to prove that there are two of them that look alike. I hate to ask the owners of the animals to take a day off of work to go to court for something this stupid.
I have filed a counter claim against this person for harassment. I was told by a local attorney that "these types" of cases are hard to win without representation. What do you think? I have A LOT of video evidence, and several people willing to testify on my behalf. I was not real certain on how to go about putting a value on "living in my home peacefully", so I have sued for the amount of my mortgage payment for each month I have had to deal with this. Does that sound reasonable?
I really appreciate any advice you can offer. This is all new to me.
