Bath, Michigan had one of the worst school bombings in history - 45 people (mostly young kids) were killed and 58 people (mostly young kids) were injured. There have been numerous incidents where bombs have been brought to schools but teachers, school administrators and the police were able to prevent death, injury and damage by reacting quickly. And bombs are the choice weapon of terrorists.

I am a believer in freedom of speech and free access to reading materials of all kinds. But schools have an obligation to keep schools safe. Any threat, or perceived threat, is taken very seriously.

With the intelligence you display in your school work, I would think you would be able to display some intelligence here and realize why the school is taking the action it is.

Huh?

Have they redefined intelligence?

Crap.

I hate when that happens!

Punishment is meant for to prevent something from happening again. I do not see how suspending a student who does well in school would accomplish anything. Wouldn't detention after school make much more sense? I do understand the point about bombs now and school. I personally have never heard of them.

We're not here to debate your individual school's policy, dude. Who cares how you are being punished??

Yes, I figured since you guys were so happy to mention them you could surely post up a few. I care about the punishment because suspension is a big difference between detention at my school.

Really?

Where did you get that idea?

Could punishment also serve other purposes.

Such as ... oh, I don't know ... maybe PUNISHMENT for something wrong you did?

Just a wild guess.

O.S. did, but I did not. For a reason: I've already helped to raise two boys to adulthood -- and I don't bother to get into the "prove my point to a kid" game.

*playing a tiny violin...*

Who ELSE cares, besides you?

Of course no one else cares, they are not me. Just like Judges don't think twice when giving out sentences of 5 years or sentences of 10 years. I am sure the person receiving will care though. Especially if they do not deserve it.

Especially if they do not deserve it.
And you don't feel you deserve it.
If you were looking at the site with nefarious intent, then you deserve every bit of punishment you get.
If you were looking at the site with stupidity, then I agree. What has happened to date, along with some other minor discipline, should help to curtail such behavior in the future.

I like the way you think....

Most of the time.

The times you disagree with me are, I assume, slip-ups that you are not really responsible for.

:D

I didn't even know that what I was doing was wrong though... Like y'all said play stupid...
