As there appears to be plenty of evidence on file with the government you are not legally their child from birth, I do not see that you have recourse. Honestly, I am not trying to be sarcastic. Have you ever considered asking the police to run your prints and see if you were an abducted infant? Contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children also. I am not trying to be sarcastic. I am trying to help. If you were baby napped and your birth parents took prints, that would establish who you are and with a police report, could solve your problem.

Never even considered that route, all though I don't believe I was kidnapped, getting fingerprinted might help me with records and such. Thank you for the suggestion. I'm going to look into that tomorrow.

well, what would you expect a kidnapper do in such a situation. I can see it now; it's your 16, 18, whatever birthday and the people you accepted as your parents all this time walk up to you and say:

it's time we told you. You are not really our child. We kidnapped you when you were only a few days old. We thought it was time we really told you we are criminals.

So, the schools didn't have a problem with no birth certificate? Do you have a driver's license? Have you registered with Selective Service? Ever had a job?

Your birth certificate it required for so many things it is a lot of work to evade the demands. The SS # is required if you work so unless you worked under the table, it was required to have a ss #.

I just cannot imagine how one would take care of so many issues without both of those documents unless you lived like a troll under a bridge.

My first thought was that this was a pretty farfetched theory but I will admit that it would explain a great deal.

So once you find out and get your SSN, probably time to write a book and get a movie deal...

I dont know how this is even possible. I mean, I had to have one just to start out school. Doctors ask for your information when you go to see them. You have to have a SSN to take the SATs and as stated above your parents have to have your SSN to claim you. Are you sure you don't have one and your parents just lost it?
