Broke up with girlfriend, she has my car somewhere. Police say it's civil.

what the Hell is your problem? I never said it was gf's car. I said there was presumed permissive use so the cops will refuse to do anything and the Onstar accout assigned to that car supported exactly that.

by the way, it is termed a "claim and delivery" in mi although many states call if a replevin

I never said anything about that since, I figured if OP knew where the car was they could simply go and get it. To sue you have to be able to serve them. Additionally, if the OP knows where the girl is, OP can likely institute such actions as they could give notification that permission to use the car has been withdrawn and therefor, retaining the car can be considered a criminal matter.

what did I do to get attacked?
Dude! OP pretty well discounted what you posted and I smacked HIM for it. Not you. Doofus.

My apologies if I misconstrued your statements but I'm not sure where I did if I did.

actually, no. OP provided specific reinforcement of what I said.
Justalayman. I am on the exact same page you are. I cannot understand why stealth2 posted what she did.
Even more surprised she refers to you as the doofus. Hopefully she takes the hint and trolls on to another thread
to spread her misery.

believe it or not given the tenor of that post, I believe the doofus was a term of endearment. I suspect I am misunderstanding stealth's original post that said I could pound sand. Not sure what is going on but for me, the hijack ends here. We can use PM's so as to not clutter the post any more. My apologies.

I have edited my impertinent posts heavily and ask that others do the same.

Apology accepted, because you did take it the wrong way. I was actually standing up for you, as Geekess posted. A "thanks for the info" from OP to you would have been nice, IMO.

ETA: And yes, the "doofus" was intended as a term of endearment. ;)

I know I am such a wonderful guy but I hardly know all of you so fighting over me is just embarrassing the Hell out of me.

didn't we have a recent discussion about this exact thing? I am probably more guilty than most in continuing an off track argument. If I can change, then you can change, we all can change (sounds like a line from a movie I have seen:D)
