My husband and I moved in to a new home a year ago and at that time my brother-in-law asked if he could store some boxes in our basement. We agreed what was once boxes is now an entire basement full of furniture and boxes and carpet and you name it. We want to finish our basement and have asked him to remove his things. He has refused and states that he cannot afford to move or store his things anywhere else and that we have a responsability to hold onto his things. How do I get rid of this stuff? If I send him a registered letter giving him a set amount of time to remove his belongings what am I allowed to do if anything at the end of this time period with his things? By the way my brothe-in-law sued his father in the past so I know he would not hesitate to sue us.
Thank you for you help.
