What is the name of your state? Oregon

I'm in the middle of a bankruptcy and have been offered a free hot-tub from a friend. I sooo badly want to accept it but am afraid of it becoming part of the bankruptcy estate and losing it. Also, it won't appear in any of my schedules which may look suspicious.

Can I accept this gift?

Thank you.

If you've already filed.. then it can't be part of the BK estate. That only includes anything and everything you had BEFORE you filed.

I would do a bill of sale; maybe even make reference to why it’s free (moving out of state, condition).

For considerations received (6-pack), the owner conveys ownership of one hot tub.

The only time you will run into trouble is if it is thought you gave (or paid for) the hot tub to the friend prior to filing.
