Hi, i am trying to sue a car mechanic.
A month and a half ago, we replaced the transmission, timing belt and catalytic converter in our 2001 Subaru Forester. We paid $2650. On saturday, the car stopped working. My wife placed the shift transmission mode in drive, but it only went in reverse and then it did not go at all. We had the car towed to the mechanic since it was an issues related to the transmission. the mechanic said the transmission is fine and what happened was that a bolt came lose from the shifting box and a cable was burned when my wife drove the car (we later found the bolt in the parking lot). now the mechanic wants to charge us $360 to fix the car. They insist this is not their problem, but we do and it should be part of the 90 days labor guaranteed they gave us when they fixed the transmission. we feel that the problem is their responsibility and that they did not do a good job when they mounted the transmission. I'd appreciate any guidance you may give us. thanks. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
