You do of course realize that this person sees your file all the time? They are the ones who pull it out and mark in it when you make a new appointment, they are the ones who update insurance/payment information in it, they are the ones who add new information that the doc wants in the file from new appointments, and new tests.
As a matter of fact, I have been going to the same doctor for almost 11 years, and everytime I go in for an appointment my chart is sitting in a stack on the desk, piles sorted according to whom the patient is seeing in the office, I sign the papers for my insurance to cover my appointment, and I watch as the secretary opens my file and inserts these papers. As I leave the appointment, I hand a paper with the information from that appointment, any procedures I had, time period to schedule another appointment, and etc, to another office person who looks it over, tells me what my co-pay is, punches the info into the computer, and then places that piece of paper in my file.
You do not get to keep your info confidential from the employees of a doctor's office. Geez, haven't you ever called for an appointment, or med refill, and had the secretary ask you for more information, or what problems you were having?
You are the one who is acting like a child by having a temper tantrum about this. You got your answer, the occurence is not actionable, there were no privacy violations, nor any other kind of violation. Get over it, if you aren't happy with the way they handle things at this office, switch doctors.
