What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

I was charged with possession of CDS and possession of paraphernalia (on school grounds). I went to court, the charges were downgraded, and then later dismissed. I also had everything expunged.

What will show up on a background check? Will anything show up since the case was dismissed?

Depends on what is asked. If asked if you were ever arrested, answer yes. If asked if you were ever convicted, answer no.

It's hard to say. It really depends on where the background info is acquired. Some private companies my list your original charges, others may list the charges that were dismissed. Other may show all, the original and reduced charges.

If the records were expunged then only government agencies can view the charges by court order. If you are ever charged and tried for another crime the court can see your record without a court order. I am guessing you have no idea what expunged is and that you did not in fact have "everything expunged." Run a background check and see what happens is the best advice I can give you.
