What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TEXAS.

Hello,

I want to start a t-shirt business where I would draw cartoons of celebrities that are not very detailed but can still be recognized. Am I allowed to do this? And if I am, then how far can I take it?

For example,
Am I allowed to use celebrity names? Sports team names? Colors?

Also, if I have an item for sale that just has a picture of a celebrity but no name on the shirt. Am I allowed to put their name on the t-shirt sales page? Or am I not allowed to mention the name anywhere?

Thank you for any help.:)

No. Celebrities have rights to their likeness, even charicatures.
Team names may be OK. LOGOs are not and are perhaps one of the most fiercely defended of trademarks.
