What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oregon

I went through a divorce and chapter 7 about 3 years ago. My Ex and i had been making payments to her mother for a loan. In the chapter 7 this was included and the trustee was asking for $2700 for the preferential payments. Someone made 5 $75 payments and stopped. I don't know if it was the EX or her mom. I had told my lawyer i was fine with the trustee getting it back from her mom and never signed any agreement to pay anything. Now 3 years later i get a notice saying my Ex and i need to pay about $2300. Can someone please explain this to me? Everything i have read says the trustee will go after whom the payments went to.

Thanks
