Can I represent myself or with a public defender and later if i go to trial can I hire a private attorney? Do you think public defender will do a good job?
If you represent yourself, your opponent is a guy there who went to school for many years and works inside that court house everyday and knows everyone and has complete training and understanding of not only the law, but the nuance of the laws, and the nuances of how the judge works and how the court operates - and that guy is going to crush you. You saying "I've never done drugs test me" will not be any semblance of a defense to 148 pc.

A public defender is there to get you to plea as quickly and with as little interaction with you as possible... but they will begrudgingly fight if you make them. One of your choices he can never make for you.. is whether to accept the deal.

Wow i was an arreignment today they gave me public defenter student who didn't know shiiit honestly i was like training him... anyways i dropped him and represented me since he was keep asking get a deal get a deal when there is no case here he wanned to give me prabation. Anyway, after seeing the judge, the judge asked me if i will be going to represent myself during the trail and i said no i am going to have an attorney if we go to trail and so he did not give a trail but extended another date for another arreignment with my lawyer. he said find a lawyer i dont know why he did that. I also asked if i dont have a lawyer at that time of arreignment what will happen he said if u come we'll go from there. SO i would like to know even if i go without a lawyer again represent myself what will happen? do you think they wanna go to trail? i dont think so they want me to spend money to get an attorney. I am going to get one but just in case i dont what will he do the judge. why did he do that? u will be amazed if u see the case and hear my story how it happened. they trying hard to back up the cop's arrest or justify the cop's arrest.

The judge did that because he knows this could be a relatively serious offense as misdemeanors go, and he was trying to give you a chance to secure legal counsel.

If you try to do this yourself, you can pretty much expect a conviction if the state goes to trial at all. Criminal defense is generally not a do-it-yourself project.

Somehow I don't think you were training him.

No one can predict what the judge will do. Find someone with a crystal ball.

Seemed like that student was against me and not against the cop or the prasecuter. The judge seemed good so far... but i honestly did not appriciate that student keep asking me to get a probation. I never been arrested and just because the officer accuses me of some stupid affense does not mean i have to ruin my career. I think if i get a lawyer this case wont even go to trail because of many mistake that the officer has made on the citiation and on the police report... no praubable cause. Officer stated just because i have not closed my eyes for him to test me he arrested me for 148 since it was deleyed. lol wow... i do understand this fact however he can take me in to check but not after when i come out clean then charged me 148. and reminder that i was a passenger not a driver. and on the citation also stated that we were driving acura when the car was mitsubichi and on the police report stated that it was nisan altima .. wtf is this? he said that i had wierd eyes step out of the car in reality but on the report he says he noticed my lips are dry ... he is just trying to cover his ass for false arrest and harrasment.
