What is the name of your state? Florida

I have a sept-son that wants to move to South Carolina from Florida and live with us, his dad my self and two young siblings. I just want to know what is the age when he (13 years old now) can choose on his own where to live and with whom? What does the Florida Law says regarding this???

Thank You!

Kids are not legally allowed to make choices. At 18, he will be considered an adult, and can make choices. Get it?

We use to live in CA and there was a law that says childern can choose where to live when they are 12 yeas old.

The long and the short of it is (and you'd know this if you'd done a search as suggested before posting - because this question is asked at least once a day) is that children do not make these decisions. One state (GA) does allow the child to choose at 14, barring unfitness in the "chosen" parent. Otherwise, it is at the judge's discretion whether to even consider the child's wishes.

If this kid decided he was finished with school, would Dad allow him to make that choice?

Even if is for the best of his interest? Obviously we need to reason with his mom, right??? But, that is out of the question.

The bottom line is that the judge MAY take the child's wishes into consideration. However, the child DOES NOT get to choose.

Then Dad needs to PROVE it. Which is not always an easy thing to do.
The bottom of line is that the child misses his dad and siblings very much and he needs to be close to them. As for his mother, not that much anymore.
