She wasn't obligated to. She had them in the summer and presumably supported them THEN w/out assistance from the father. He did-so during the school year.

Surely you're not suggesting she pay child support to him w/out an order in place?

Without an order? Really?

Again, where was her legal obligation to do so? Certainly not in a court order.

Both parents are legally responsible for financially supporting their children. There is something missing here -- the year retroactive quite frankly is missing something. And I could hazard a guess as to why it went back a year. I am not saying she had to PAY child support to dad during that time but that she had to financially support her children legally.

Well one thing that is not noted (that I noted while briefly re-reading it) is that there is no mention of whether or not these 2 were ever married (yeah, I know if they were there would be the words 'ex-wife'**ex-hubby', but this is a 3rd person posting). SO, if they were married, it's a little different (at least in OH).
Also, even if they were not married, there is no doubt that she's the mother of the child, which negates the argument that we give to guys who have kids that are born to a woman they are not married to).

Here's an idea OP -- how about just having HER come on here and create her own account.
