It might have been nice for your sister to share the sinkhole problem with you before your accident. You might want to file a claim with your parents' homeowners insurance.

Yet you were aware of a nearly 3 foot hole in the ground, you even called the city about it yourself in the past you said. And then you walked into the hole anyway?
