I will try and provide point form for clarity My Aunt died 13 years ago.
1. I was named in Will but not notified until one month ago.
2. Three items listed - House and contents to Person1, Jewelry to Person2, Cash split between Person2 and Person3 me
3. Husband lived in house until a year ago when he passed. House held until then.
4. Jewelry and house passed to Person1 and Person2 then.
5. The Executor of Will died 3 years ago without a Will holding onto cast under 10k
6. Now Son of Executor wants to wait 2 years to distribute money in case Husbands Estate puts claim on Will.
7. Original Lawyer will not help me. Do you need any further info? What can I do? Does This make sense?

Thanks for anything you can offer!!

This site is for US law.

My only advice is to get a consult with a lawyer. You can easily spend more than $10K in legal fees chasing after $5K, so you should keep that in mind when weighing your options.

Your attorney is going to have to try to find out what the value of the assets are in this estate and whether the estate can afford to pay the cash you are owed after the estate's debts are subtracted.
