It's just my opinion, but it's based on about forty trips to court before and after a ferocious divorce/custody battle: I think the judge will see the father, his lawyer(s), and their motions, especially the one for stepmommy daycare compensation to be ridiculous/denied. I also think he will want to hear an assesment from the GAL before making any changes concerning visitation. In our case the judge relied heavily on the GAL report. Good luck.

Ok, so here's the latest. Still no actual contact with the GAL. Her father died, the funeral is tomorrow. We're thinking she'll ask for a continuance, but we won't know til Monday.

Ex's attorney called my attorney today and asked her to approve the following idea...

We go ahead and try the case w/out the visit by the GAL to my house. Then, she can schedule a visit for later in the year, and IF her opinion differs from whatever the judge decides (and he's assuming his side would win) then the judge could decide whether or not to hear her report and alter his ruling.

Are these people insane?

My attorney did. LOL

I just can't even fathom how they thought that suggestion would work! Truly, I'm feeling more and more like I fell down the rabbit hole.

So, on Monday, we go to court and see what happens. Based on all of this crap, I'm guessing it'll be continued once again. It'll be interesting to see my ex's face though when I show up in court with my mom, my step-dad, my dad, my step-mom, and 3 of my 7 sisters in tow. He might just wet himself.

My ex has told me a million times that the only reason he never hit me was because he's afraid of my family. And honestly... I can see someone being afraid of my mom, my step-dad and my 7 sisters. That's a lot of people to p*ss off all at once! lol

Casa ~ is there a nuttyx support group? I'm gonna need it, I think. I can just see this being continued another 6 months, and then him filing AGAIN anytime I change my socks without calling to get his permission first.

So, I have a question that just occurred to me after talking to my mom tonight and giving her the update...

If ex is requesting supervised visits, and giving suggestions as to who is going to supervise... wouldn't it make sense to actually SPEAK to those people first? I mean, he's essentially trying to get a court order that binds my parents to provide supervision, and thereby free up two weekends a month so that I can see my kids... and he hasn't spoken to them in two years.

Wouldn't the GAL have to visit the proposed visitation location?

If this absurdity was actually ordered, and my parents couldn't be there on a weekend... does that mean I can't see my kids?

How would transportation costs be handled? If this was actually ordered, I'd be bound by the court to transport the kids 150 miles in each direction 8 times/month...
