I always bring three copies of anything I think I might need in court. One for me, one for the court, and one for the opposing party. I'm expected to be prepared. If something unanticipated comes up that I'm not prepared for, I'll ask for a continuance.

For any "official" proceedings I've ever been involved in, I've a copy for every individual I expect to be there, plus 2-3 extra copies, just in case. Yes, I've walked in to meetings with 2 reams of printed materials on occasion.
