Are Dash Cameras ( on board mounted dvr for traffic/insurance scam/accidents ) legal to operate inside military bases? (specifically USMC camp pendleton SD, CA )

If they are not legal, can the camera still be mounted and turned off, or completely unmounted?

Thanks.

That would be a good question for the base pass office. If the camera can not legally be used on the base, it can not be mounted.

anything on a military base would fall under the protections of national security. They can refuse to allow the use if they wish. I can think of a couple very serious crimes one can be charged with it one would record anything against the wishes of the powers that be.

In fact, if they have prohibited recording on the base, I would expect a lot more fun things to happen to you should you roll onto the base with a camera like you are suggesting.
