SM is has ALWAYS made appts for my kids.....something I have been fighting since day one. I have never taken it back to court, but you guys are giving me some incentive to do that. Medical between us is suppose to be split, but our decree says that we are suppose to notify the other party before making the appt or when the appt is...that never happens, SM makes the appt, takes them to the appt, then send me my half of the bill. Emergency visits, of course are different.....take them to the emergency room and then notify other parent ASAP.

This exact behavior (with a few other gems thrown in) figured VERY heavily in removing my ex-husband's primary custodial status. Just FYI.

Your kidding, CJane??? What state do you live in? I would take this all back to court, but my kids are 16 and 15 and in high school. Because of their friends, activities they are in they don't want to move. I live 2 hours north of where they are now living. My kids have told me that they would live with me in a heartbeat if I lived near them. But yet, I think it would be better for them to be out of there whether they like it or not...any suggestions to this? My daughter calls me every week with things going on with her SM.....SM calling her a niger lover, a bitch, the list goes on.

Missouri.

Whether or not to file for a modification is a completly personal decision. It sometimes takes a LONG time though - and your kids may be adults before you ever saw a decision from a judge. Including the pending appeal, my custody case has dragged out for almost 2 years.

If it's something that could take that long, I would be foolish to do something because my kids will be 18 before long. So, any suggestions on what to do with SM and her making the appts and so forth and getting involved with everything?

Thank you, MrsK. I think I'm going to look into seeing if my lawyer can write a letter to SM in regards to her actions.

As far as moving closer...we've been living 2 hours away since 1999 and I have another child who is 10 that resides with us and is in the 4th grade. We moved away in the beg. to get away from all the problems....SM was going thru our trash out in the front yard to get any information she could about our lives.
