I was under the impression one could only get ARD once, but guess there's always exceptions. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out...

Trainer Borough mayor charged with 3rd DUI

In Trainer Borough documents, Eugene Maysky is referred to as "The Honorable Mayor," but according to Philadelphia Police, Maysky's actions early Friday were anything but honorable.
Maysky, mayor of the small Delaware County borough just west of the city of Chester, was arrested around 3:10 a.m. Friday at Island and Bartram avenues in Southwest Philadelphia for driving under the influence, said Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman.

Online court records indicate that Maysky, 52, was released the same day after paying 10 percent of $5,000 bail.

Court records also indicate that this was not the first DUI arrest for Maysky, who also serves as a Chester City firefighter.

In 1988, Maysky was arrested in Chester for DUI and sentenced to an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program for first-time offenders, according to the records.

Then, in February 2005, he was arrested again for DUI, this time in Upper Chichester Township, court documents show.

In that case, court records indicate that other charges, such as careless driving and exceeding the speed limit by 15 mph, were later withdrawn.

Because more than 10 years had passed since his first DUI offense, Maysky was once again allowed to enter into ARD for disposition of the DUI charge.

He served 12 months probation and did 32 hours of community service, according to court records. He was also ordered to attend and complete a safe-driving school and undergo a one-month suspension on his license, court documents said.

Court records indicate that Maysky successfully completed his second ARD sentence in 2006.

Maysky could not be reached for comment. *

Holy moly, that's 5 minutes away from where I grew up. Does the mayor get fired when he gets a DUI?
