What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MA
A college student was looking at a used car from a dealer. She wrote a check from the wrong account. Dealer said he would hold the check. She signed nothing except the check. In the meantime, she decided not to buy the car.
Dealer tried to cash the check, and it bounced. She called dealer and said she didn't want the car. Dealer says she owes him $500 for his 'costs'.
Can dealer file criminal charges for the bad check?
