1) Did the police respond? What does it state in the police report? Has she been cited for any violations?
The at-fault driver admitted to me that she was looking at her radio and thought the light was yellow. AND she admitted to the responding officer that she was looking at her radio but said she thought the light was green. Either way, she admitted to the officer that she was distracted and that she thought the light was green. The other driver was ticketed for "Disregarding a traffic signal". The accident report stated she was distracted and disregarded a traffic signal.
2) What does your insurance company say?
I thought it would be best to go directly thru her insurance, which may have been a mistake. I did speak with my insurance, and they offered assistance if needed.

The traffic ticket doesn't mean much - she's innocent until proven guilty. It seems as though the officer had no basis to even issue the ticket.

She can tell her insurance company an entirely different story and say she was upset and told the police something different.

You have not addressed whether there were any documented witnesses to the collision.
