Another thing to keep in mind is that the Service Members Civil Relief Act can cause this matter to be stayed until such time as the service member returns from deployment (even if she had been served prior to actually leaving.)

Only if it's invoked, and even then, it's not a fail-safe - is simply allows the servicemember enough time to submit an answer to the court explaining when, where and how they intend to deal with the matter.
