What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? TN
Here is the situation. Couple has been married 11 years, both have college degrees. They have two children ages 6 and 2. The husband is the breadwinner, he makes about $42K per year. Wife works part-time mainly for pocket money makes maybe $250 per month. The husband (as you can guess) pays all the bills. The couple owes about $17,500 in credit card (both are obligated on this debt) debt and about $2000 on one vehicle (this vehicle is in both names). There is a house with about $25K in equity (both names on the deed and the mortgage). There are two other vehicles (both are paid for). Both of these vehicles are in the husbands name only (one was owned by him before they were married).
Questions:
1. What would likely happen with the vehicles?
2. Would the husband have to pay any alimony?
3. How much would child support be in this case? Will the court assume that the wife COULD make a certain income if she had a full-time job before determining child support?
4. Can an amount for child support be agreed upon by the husband & wife that differs from state guidelines?
TIA
