OP, please read my original response to you. If the harassment/HWE isn\t based on a protected characteristic, then it's not illegal. And you can't sue anyone for not breaking the law.

I understand he is not doing anything illegal. That's not the reason for a suit. From what I read a hostile workplace is what we have here. I dont know what else to call it. Were all being bullied and it is demoralizing.

I'm going to be consulting several attorneys to see if they will help us. There are many here in illinois that would go after a large corporation like ours. Our manager violates company policies constantly. He is a horrible human being full of anger.

We have lots of documentation and witnesses of his bullying. Our goal is to have him removed through a class action suit. I don't care if the attorney gets 90 percent of the settlement award. We just want him gone so we cancer some peace at work and do our jobs without fear.

You have been told the legal definition of a hostile workplace. It takes more than your manager being a world-class jerk. Since he is not doing anything illegal, you have no grounds for a class action suit or any other kind of suit, no matter how much documentation you have.

But if it's going to take your paying for several lawyers to tell you that before you believe what we've told you for free, so be it.

Other responders - I say this poster is a prime candidate for the OG factor. Anyone else?

Verbal abuse IS harassment in illinois. I do have a case and have found an lawyer to help us. Hopefully a settlement gets rid of our manager.

I see. Another of those attorneys who works on Saturdays - the Saturday of a holiday weekend, no less - and suddenly appears out of nowhere to take your case.

OG factor at work again.

C'mon, HT. You're only just catching onto that now? Too much turkey on Thursday? :D;)

That's the fastest appearance of the OG Factor I've seen in ages!

I love these attorneys who answer the phones during the holiday weekends.

;)

cbg, you are psychic. PSYCHIC I tells ya! 28 minutes.

Hey there and happy Thanksgiving weekend to all. It's been a while since I was on the boards, it's either good or a little weird to see that nothing has changed.

We don't want any money. We want our insane manager gone so we can do our jobs in peace.
Sure you don't. That's why you've never once mentioned a settlement from the company.

I believe you don't want any money the same way I believe you found an attorney to take your case on Thanksgiving Saturday.

Little bit of both :D

And an attorney who is working after hours on a holiday weekend. How terrifically convenient is that?!

Cbg you have been no help.

I spoke with a friend of a friend today who happens to be a lawyer and gave me much better advice than you ever gave.
