What is the name of your state? Illinois
I was shopping at October 18, 2003.
Check out person, Rhonda, was making check out procedure very slow and was
talking to her customer-acquaintance more than needed. She started my
check out with the same slow manner. She damaged the container of my goods
and packaged it into a plastic bag. I said to her that I needed an
exchange for the damaged goods. She just ignored me. I repeat again. The
same ignorance like I wasn’t standing over the counter. I thought she has
problem with hearing so I repeated the third time slightly louder. Then I
was insulted.
Her exact words were: “ I’m an American woman. You are not allowed to bark
at American women. No one is allowed to bark at American woman.”
My wife isn’t an American citizen yet and she was shocked with this insult
and racial discrimination. I tried to get a manager but I still haven’t
got any apologies from this person.
My wife and I still remember this like it happened yesterday. We are also afraid to go to that store again inspite it's the closest food store to our home and to any other Dominick's store too.
Do I have a case? What legal practice area should I look into?
Thank you.
