So what your saying is that if this guy is covered for medical and has a hypothetically has the minimum.. and he ends up in the hospital, and drains the total amount, then the insurance company isn't responsible to cover damage to the injured. And every insurance policy only has to cover one person no matter what? I don't know what car insurance company you work for, but my policy states, for bodily injury, $100,000 each person, $300,000 each accident. It may be different in TN.. but I have never heard of what you are talking about.. ever.

What I am saying is CLOSE to what you wrote. Using your policy limits, the most the insurance company will pay for 1 person's injuries is $100,000. The most the insurance company will pay for ALL of the injuries in the accident is $300,000. So, if 1 person's medical bills total $102,000 or $150,000, or any other amount over $100,000, all that will be paid by that insurance company is $100,000.

The company will pay a single person NO MORE THAN the LIMIT per person, as stated in the policy, and will pay NO MORE THAN the LIMIT per accident for ALL of the medical bills.
