He told me the engine was a 1967 327 out of another vehicle and rebuilt. The VIN # would not have matched anyway. I left positive feedback because a third-party or "trading assistant" listed the vehicle for the owner. He just lists items for people in his area. He regretted what happened and decided to stop being a trading assistant because of this.
When looking for vehicles of this age, most hot-rodders or collectors focus primarily on the motor. It usually goes in this order of importance: Motor(drivetrain), body, interior, wheels/tires. So basically, I was drawn to the claimed engine. I did call the person 24 hours after the purchase to explain that the motor was NOT what he said. If he would of been any kind of decent person, he would of refunded the money and relist the vehicle with the correct info. I would but happy with the $ difference between the two motors, but this guy would not budge. Thanks Zigner for your insight, it does help shape my case against him. Vinny
