I assume by bm you mean birth mother? If so, that is inappropriate in any circumstance other than an adoption. I do realize that there are some forums out there that use that very disrespectful abbreviation but we do not use it here.

Having said that, if you do not know what to do to proceed with the case that you filed, it would probably be in your best interests to hire an attorney.
