AS to public vs. private, that is a personal decision. Some of us are fortunate to have private school quality available in our public school district. We are in a top rated district and the schools rank very highly. This may not be the case in other districts. It is not automatic that a given private school is superior to a given public school and vice versa.

I completely agree next. I am just hoping that the OP is looking at it from the point of view as to whether or not the child does benefit educationally more from a private school that he would in the public schools in his area.

Our daughter goes to private school because the public schools here are really unacceptable. The highest rate they have in any grade and subject, against the national average is 22%. LOL, if the public schools here had a good rating, we would be way more than willing to send her there and not pay tuition.
