Hi, my mom/dad passed on in 2016. There was a gift (a home) left for three children. The oldest was left the executor. He and I had a rocky relationship. He at the end asked me how he wanted to transfer the money to me which was 18,000 approx for a home worth 200,00. (long long story) that I was entitled to. Before getting back to him, he and his wife changed their mind. They sought legal advice due to fear I was going to sue him for something.
The lawyer tells him to look into my life for judgements against me, due to the lawyer telling my brother he is responsible if there are judgements and they can not locate me. My brother does it. The lawyer finds a child support judgement from 22 years ago. Now the brother wants to call the courts so HE is not ultimately responsible if the mother of my son found out my dad left me a gift, and the courts can not get into my bank account. To me, this is fear on steroids. This began with seeing this lawyer due to a fear I would sue him and now they are into my personal life.
I have no money to hire a lawyer. I read a Trust Litigate Attorney was the person to see.
PS The brother is into the private attorney he hired for 1000k so far but the lawyer is charging him by the hour.

It's certainly within his rights, and obligations, to make sure that your judgment creditor doesn't become a creditor of the estate.

You might want to check this yourself. If your state's child support agency was involved in collecting any of the arrears the state might be able to intercept your inheritance to pay it off.

My son has that going on and the state garnishes his pay whenever he has a job and also intercepts his income tax refunds (and stimulus checks). It's anybody's guess what else they can come after.

Based on this alone, I believe that you need help faaaar beyond the constraints of the forum.

Either this is a typo, and you really mean 1K ($1,000), or your brother is... inept ($1,000,000 would be a tad steep for a small estate). It is pretty standard for a lawyer to charge by the hour, so I am unclear on the point you're trying to make.

In any case, accurate information is only possible with reliable facts. At least get an initial consult with a local lawyer.
