Co Sign, you need to figure out what you hope to accomplish with your writing. You need to know in advance of writing what audience you hope to attract. The audience for your writing will be the backdrop against which all else will follow.

In other words, if you hope with your writing to change some minds, you will need to handle your content far differently than you will if you are writing to those who think like you do. This latter type of writing, where you are not trying to convince anyone of anything or persuade anyone to change their mind, is the easiest type of writing to do.

Well...I hope you understood that "no one" was hyperbolic. The reality is that very few people read the overwhelming majority of blogs.
No offense taken.

The reality is that few people read this forum.

Facebook Market Place alone has at least 800 million monthly users by comparison. Few of the individual items for sale and going to be seen by a vast majority of Facebook users but each item posted is likely to have a higher view cost within a week than any of posts on this site.

Yet you and others continue to post here.

The total audience is not the point. The point is that you feel you are contributing to a given cause.

I'd say my previous involvement with another website in regards to the dishonest business practices of a leading e-commerce site has a much higher output to input ratio than posts on this site. That is because this e-commerce site has at least 180 million monthly users and readers can immediately implement the advice I've given to save them money and time (i.e., money). The site in question agrees as they've banned accounts run me at least a dozen times in an attempt to shut me up. My "crime" was using their own words, public information and simply math to show what they are claiming is not true.

And this is where you lost me and where you'll likely lose anyone who doesn't already agree with you.
“We will take America without firing a shot. We do not have to invade the U.S. We will destroy you from within....”

Nikita Khrushchev

Surely you are aware of the influx of communist / socialist / fascist doctrine into colleges, public schools, corporations, most Western media, and the Democratic Party over the decades.

This agenda is powered by propaganda and not facts.

The problem is that most people do not take the time to investigate to see what the facts actually are. Today many kids can't read, write, complete simply math problems, or invoke logic to solve a problem but they can use a cell phone. Most kids graduating from high school today could not handle a 100 year school book intended for elementary kids who in addition to walking back and forth form school did chorses on the farm to support the family

This agenda is easily taken apart by simply presenting documented facts. Even people trying to push this agenda agree with my posts as their immediate response is to insult and threaten and not debate with any facts. The fact that I label this as a "communist / socialist / fascist" insurgency here has nothing to do with my comments.

I don't recall the exact book in question - perhaps one of the Dune novels - but the following paraphrasing of a quote best sums it up.

Words are like plastic - as soon as your utter them people mold them into what they want to hear.

As with all propaganda, the articles I respond to are intended as a fishing expedition to make readers fall hook, line, and sinker for the agenda being pushed so that increasingly wider net can be used on readers from then on. Their audience is anyone reading the article. Likewise, my responses are intended for anyone reading the article.

That is just commen sense. U.S. troops had little chance of saving brainwashed Okinawa civilians from killing themselves, yet they kept trying and did save many.

When presented with the facts people still choose to believe the propaganda as they would have to admit they wrong and they had been boondoggled.

Iowa... You make me giggle.

So, you insult the seniors here as insignificant because you don't like the answers you received. Nice. Post what you want. Roll with the consequences.

I usually refuse to register with a party, because I think both of the major parties are rotten. However, the exception was when I lived in Iowa - even Iowa City is a tad too conservative.

Any person who is leaning Democratic, or a moderate leaning towards liberal is going to be completely turned off by your word usage. You are going to defeat your own purpose if you continue to use inflammatory, divisive language.

I am not understanding your purpose, quite frankly. There are conservative and extremist sites and postings and they tend to attract conservative and extremist readers.

But if you believe your voice is loud enough and your opinions are worth hearing, good luck to you. Just keep in mind the laws that govern speech and make sure you are adequately insured. Billion dollar defamation suits are currently being lodged against some who felt their speech was protected. Defending against these suits - whatever the eventual results - is extremely costly. Tread carefully.

I have read this thread three times and I cannot figure out why it still shows as unread and will not change to read. Good grief. Q, did you do something?

A post was reported. The thread should show as read now - once you read THIS post, at least.

Post #22 is gone and that is what is/was what showed up as unread. In the future when that happens make sure you are caught up on all the threads you care about and then hit the "Mark Forum as Read" link at the top.

Right. The last post in the thread was previously reported. That should be corrected now with these additional postings. :)
