I live in Louisiana in Jefferson Parish.

A couple of months ago my mother became physically violent against my dad and me, we called the police and pressed charges and we had a temporary protection order against her until august, however she ended up on the streets and was able to convince my dad to let her back and drop the charges.

Right now i'm not sure if the order is still up and she's living with us again, we signed some papers that said we wanted to drop charges but the district attorney said if the court agreed to drop charges she might need to go to a diversion program. She hasn't gone to any and we're not sure if she needs to or not.

Recently she's been a bit testy and I'm worried she'll start being violent again, if the restraining order is still up and we have to call the police, will we get in trouble for letting her back? We don't know whats going on with the order or if she needs to go to the program or not, we tried talking people but we haven't got a clear answer. I'm worried we'll have to deal with her violence if we'd end up getting in trouble for letting her back.
