FILING DEADLINES, forward or backward?

I will just do what I do in court with a recalitrant witness -- just keep asking the question until she is sufficently embarassed to cut her ECF, Federal Rule analysis crap out -- or until she answers.

BA, I am not embarrassed by your question but I am not able to answer it either.

I am trying to help a pro se party navigate his way through Federal Court. If that offends you, I’m sorry. I don’t think explaining procedure to him or mentioning Tennessee’s impending conversion to ECF is “crap” but you are entitled to your opinion.

(Remember, the pro se party isn't filing ECF and has no case, a 150 page complaint & no attorney.)

In case anyone else cares, in the FRBP it's rule 8006, but it's Rule 6 in FRCP.

Basically, the filing date for TRADITIONAL FILERS rolls over to the next business day. If your total period from the date of the order or other originating event (which sets your filing clock ticking) is less than eight days, the weekends and holidays don't count. Otherwise, they DO, but if it actually ends on one of those days, you get the rollover.

But BEWARE, smarty pants pro se filers!! In the BK Court, there is an after-hours fax filing mechanism that electronic filers must use if the ECF system appears to be down, and traditional filers MAY use that system, if they choose. I was fine with FedEx-ing the documents up there on Monday for Tuesday delivery.

But, oh, clever girl, I thought that convenient little after-hours fax system might come in mighty handy for some future NON-weekend deadline, so I went ahead and got a fax machine, and after wrangling with it for a while, I finally got the thing working and went ahead and sent the cover page on Sunday.

But what a retard. The court treats the document now as filed on Sunday, rather than Tuesday. Since it wasn't technically DUE until Tuesday, it's not late, but I just inadvertently chopped two days off the 10 days I would have had to file my designation of record.

That's not likely to be a make or break situation, but I never want to give time AWAY. I guess if something comes up and I can't put everything together, I will have to consider myself legally Darwinized at my own hand...

So why the need to continue to argue the question after answered? Why the need to insist things you say are correct when they are WRONG? Why the need to obsessively focus on Paridise or track what she or other senior members post or don't post on this forum? Your paranoia and obsessive traits are all to apparent. Please get some help, take your meds, call your psychiatrist if you have one, if not, print out all your posts and take them and ask to be evaluated. This forum is for advice, not a BLOG for you to publish your rambling thought process,. If that is what you need, start your own BLOG. Can we agree that if there is ONE thing the senior members have in common, it is their ability to speak for themselves? Perhaps if you could mind your own business, issues would be resolved much faster and with less confusion; such as you suffered the other night when you didn’t know which thread you were in or who was talking to who or how to spell, etc..

The fact is you CAN’T seem to mind your own business. I have TWICE given you the last word in a thread and offered to start anew. Both times, you responded by continuing to directly attack me.

As I understand the moderator’s rules here, we are not supposed to be arguing with each other directly. Rather we are to each post what we want to say to the OP and refrain from taking issue with someone else’s post. That policy is wise, simple to follow, and conducive to the goals of this forum.

It is YOU who have repeatedly attacked me. There is a limit to how much of it I’m going to ignore. If you want me to change my behavior towards you, I suggest you cease writing negative things to me or about me when I have done nothing to you. If you want me to change my behavior towards others, tough ****. They are grown ups (I think) and are each responsible for the consequences of their OWN actions.

Please review your behavior from the last two threads and consider who it is that needs meds.

None of us have gained a thing by this exchange over the last few days so why not work towards a more pleasant existence for all by keeping our opinions of each other to ourselves?"

Megan, in 52, makes a harmless comment to Rmet in answer to something Rmet wrote in the other thread.

Megan posts a number of times, making no comment at all to Rmet, as per Megan's promise to give Rmet the last word.

Rmet attacks Megan again in 76 and admonishing Megan to: "Please quit following other members all over this forum or tracking their postings."
