God help him if his kid ever signs up for marching band. Band parenting will make his indentured servitude to the little league look like a walk in the park.

What was the theme song from 'Greatest American Hero'?
Believe it or Not by Joey Scarbury and yes, it's on my mp3 player. (Poor William Katt - not even playing Sundance could top "Ralph").

Retaliation trivia: What other popular 80s show did Joey Scarbury also sing the theme song to? :D

That was one of my favorite shows. I loved that song.

Ok YAG I've got you on this one. The answer to you trivia is Hardcastle and McCormick.

Let's keep the trivia train going. Who were the actors on Hardcastle and McCormick?

You've never had a kid go to private school, have you?

You have all the freedom in the world. Of course, your kid has no inherent right to play baseball, so no freedoms are given up if you decide not to do business with them!
Ziggy.... don't you know that the definition of freedom includes the words "do what ever I want?"

Freedom, here, means that my son and my family MUST be treated differently from the other kids and parents that DO volunteer and support the team.

Crap... I would love a single session in the snack booth. My eldest is a year round competitive swimmer... and I can't tell you the number of times my wife and I have timed, or worked the concession stand or ran stats or whatever.

To the OP. A team requires a certain amount of work. You are being given the option of either doing it or paying someone else to do it.

You have all the freedom in the world... especially to take your kid out of the program if you find it "socialist"

The OP wants the proverbial cake and eat it too. Kiddo wants to play ball. Parents don't want to help fund the team either by paying the money or volunteering the time. Kiddo learns it's OK to get and not give. What a wonderful example of responsibility and accountability these parents are setting for the child.

I find it interesting the OP is blaming the government for everything while she demands everything she wants to be free and yet she fails to take responsibility for something as simple as setting a good example for her son.

Some days you just can't make up this stuff.
