And as a paralegal I work in primarily estate and tax law and have experience in Criminal Law. I don't know anymore about family law than from my own cases I've navigated Pro Se. Just because one is a paralegal or a lawyer doesn't mean they are qualified on all subjects. We have fields we specialize in.
But you have resources that most members of this web site do not have access to.;)

Correct. But I was looking for advice from someone who had been in a similar situation, case law, opinion or a point in the right direction because its not a very black and white issue. We don't have a magic computer or book with all the legal answers. Yes I have resources but if you don't start off with a good idea of what your looking for you could be looking for a needle in a hay stack.
 
In most areas of law there are set guidelines for practice and procedure. If you have a question about zoning laws or trusts, generally that information is set forth and accessible in an easy to locate and understand manner. Family law judges and courts seem to have more flexibility in applying law on a case by case basis.
