See, I was thinking that. AND TNBS has a point also.

This whole thing is a scam...(hint..hint... check times)

P.S. Yes I know TNBS you'll say that's your thing so I'll give you credit here..LOL

You think so? I hope not...I spent a lot of time with a DV counselor to get help for Camerons mom and would hate to think I did it for a sick fantasy of Kelly's!!

Well hate to tell you but I really do think you wasted your time on this scam.

Too bad.... it just makes it harder for people with real problems to be believed, and to get extra help!!

And I am really pissed....I have to take my bs meter into the shop!! And they charge an arm and a leg! :p

BSG, it doesn't matter if this post is a scam or not. You did the right thing by trying to help and that's all that matters.
There will always be people who make stuff up in order to get a little attention or to have fun trolling. That's the price we pay for trying to give advice via internet.

I do wonder when the most obvious troller here will get booted though!

Hi bris...I know you're right but it still pisses me off....none of this would have happened if the darned bs meter was working!! The light stays green...maybe the red light bulb just needs to be changed...humm ....yeah...I'll try that!

Thanks for the words of wisdom........bay

I need to get me one of those!! ;)
Currently I have custody to the only FA crystal ball, you don't want the flack when the ball clearly shows something people don't like. I have worked long and hard to have thick skin in order to posses the FA crystal ball.

baystate - look at it this way... If it is a scam, the only thing that happens is someone gets a kicj out of those of us who tried to help. If it isn't - we've done a good thing in trying to help. You certainly have nothing to be sorry for - or ashamed of. Be glad you're not completely jaded. ;)

Yep! I know...already over it! It was just kinda embarrassing to be taken in by the likes of Kelly!

And if being with my ex for 21 years didn't jade me  ....well this won't do it either!! Thanks for the kind words... :)

Folks....while of course its possible that both Cameron's mom and grandmother posted here...or while its possible that this was a fantasy planted by someone to "get to us"....Its also highly possible that both stories are true, and are unconnected.

I have had direct involvement with at least 300 cases in the last 5-8 years of grandparents who "tricked" the parents of the grandchildren into giving them custody or guardianship....and all of them were just as unrepentant as this grandmother appears to be.

On top of that, the saddest part about it is that in many or most of the cases I have been involved in, the grandparents did it for financial gain....or did it because they wanted a "do over" at parenting. In any case, it always involved a young parent signing a document that they were young and naive enough to either not understand (or read)....or to trust the older adults in their lives not to screw them over.

One case I dealt with was purely money. The grandparent was on disability with a high SS base. The grandparent alone got 1800.00 a month in disability, with two kids the grandparent got 3200.00.

Think about it....what does a previous CP do when they have lived off child support and welfare all their lives or disability...and it has ended (in all or part) because all of their children are emancipated??? Get custody of grandkids!

Or what does an "empty nester" grandparent (particularly controlling ones) when the no longer call the shots in their children's lives? Again, get custody of grandchildren.

I in no way want to disparage the many wonderful grandparents who have taken up the slack for their dysfunctional children or children-in-law. However, the reality of the situation as that some of these grandparents do these things for dishonorable reasons.
