First you use the church angle and when that doesn't get any traction you are going to try to use the "you do things differently here in the big city" angle?

We aren't here so that you can keep trotting out excuses until you find one that you think will work in court.

Judges are smarter than that. So are we.
I really love the "I wouldn't do that because I'm in a church".

Maybe OP should google Elizabeth Smart. Or any of a million sites covering sex abuse by religious leaders (try Sexual abuse of minors by Christian clergy and other leaders for a start).

It's a foolish 'defense' and won't go anywhere.

OP needs to extract himself from the situation immediately. I would apologize to the parents (all of them), tell them that he was never alone with any of the kids, and say that he will never drive the kids around and will not have any further contact (he should ask the parents to keep the kids away from his store). If he voluntarily does that, they may drop the matter.
