How long does it take to get a divorce in Oklahoma?
In uncontested divorces, if the divorcing parties have minor children, there is typically a 90 day waiting period between the time a divorce can be granted by the Court and the filing date of the petition. Divorces that do not involve minor children can be finalized in as little as 10 days from the date of filing the petition for divorce. If your case is contested, the divorce will usually take longer to complete than the 90 day and 10 day waiting periods due to the discovery process and dockets in family Court.

Now seeing as the custody is already taken care of through PA.. There is no involvment of the minor child with the divorce.. Even though they have a child together, the lawyer said since PA has jurisdiction then the only thing needed to be filed in Oklahoma is the divorce papers.. He has custody and she doesnt want custody back.. So not lying.. and not delusional..

Sorry, but divorcenet is not correct - or, at best, very misleading. Why don't you ask them how many divorces are completed in 10 days? The fact is that it almost never happens - even if it might be theoretically possible in some cases.

Note: it can't happen in your case because of the children.

I posted on here the link and the paragraph that had it in it.. not sure on which page.. I did not say his would be done in 10 days.. ofcourse his wont be done that quick.. we have to send the papers to PA for her to sign and then her send them back.. then (from what the lawyer said) since he is deploying and they both agree to the divorce that he will get put on the docket to be seen within 10 days after the papers are returned..

You claimed that you could get married quickly because it would only take a few days to get a divorce in OK. You were wrong - and you're backpedalling furiously.

That day the judge will say "we will set a date for this day and time" then the lawyer will say "your honor, he is deploying and will not be here at that time" she said then the judge will say "ok well since both signed then I will go ahead and sign this now" she just did another divorce a few weeks back for another soldier deploying.

That MAY happen on rare occasions, but doesn't seem to be the norm by any stretch of the imagination. Judges in OK tend to be very careful about dotting the i's and crossing the t's and tend not to go outside of the formal process.

I haven't seen anyone backpedal like that since I rewound the last Tour De France.
